Aims & Objectives

Health and safety legislation requires you wear a full body harness with a short lanyard in ‘boom’ type access platforms (MEWP’s). This half day course will instruct you how to identify and select the correct type of harness, and of its safe inspection and use.

Content

This course will follow a combination of classroom-based theory and hands-on practical experience. Candidates will develop an awareness of the legal implications, common hazards and precautions, together with the correct selection, use, inspection and maintenance of safety harnesses. All delegates will complete both a practical and theory assessment to demonstrate a sound understanding of the content.

• Harness and lanyard inspection, testing, storage and cleaning
• Harness fitting and adjustment
• Practical and theoretical assessment

Duration

The average course length is 4 hours, however this may depend on the delegate’s experience
CATCH Certification is awarded upon full completion of the course
